Northrim Helps Covenant House Alaska Open Doors for Homeless Youth

Each day cold, tired and hungry youth come through the doors of Covenant House Alaska seeking shelter from the dangers of the streets. They are welcomed day or night without question or cost and there they are offered the opportunity to grow and move forward toward positive goals.

Northrim has chosen to support this cause with a financial contribution of $15,000 for their new home, which was opened this summer. Covenant House Alaska built a brand new facility that will house not only the youth emergency shelter but also the youth engagement center. The center will focus on a full spectrum of care to help Alaskan youth fulfill their dreams of education, employment and a place to call home.

“Northrim’s support helps Covenant House provide food for an empty stomach, a bed for a weary soul, job prospects for an unemployed worker, and health care for a sick body,” said Covenant House Alaska Executive Director Alison Kear.
