SEC and XBRL Filings
What is XBRL?
Extensible Business Reporting Language, or XBRL, is an XML-based language for the electronic transmission of business and financial data. Use of XBRL facilitates the uploading of this data into databases for analysis. The SEC has recently required companies to provide portions of their periodic filings in XBRL as exhibits to such filings. XBRL exhibits are filed in raw code designed to facilitate a database upload.
