Northrim Bank is proud to announce the promotion of three officers and welcomes two new employees. Northrim Chairman and CEO Joe Schierhorn is pleased to announce the following updates:
Samrie Canales - AVP, Branch Manager, Eastside Community Branch
Andrew Heckman - AVP, Branch Manager, Fairbanks West Community Branch
Elisa Borcherding - Assistant Branch Manager, Float Pool
Josh Fuentes - Assistant Branch Manager, Lake Otis Community Branch
Taylor Ladenburger - Commercial Loan Officer
Canales started at Northrim in 2021 and has over 10 years of customer service and management experience. She is a member of the Alaska Women’s Business Center advisory council and volunteers with the Bank’s School Business Partnership School, Fairview Elementary School.

ANCHORAGE, AK- Northrim employees take their commitment to Alaska seriously and are honored to help the communities with contributions throughout the year. 2023 was no exception and the Bank continued its tradition of giving back.
Northrim employees shared their generous spirit by participating in the annual United Way Campaign and raised over $153,000 in support of local communities throughout Alaska and in Washington State. This total includes direct donations from employees and Northrim Bank’s fifty percent match for employee gifts to United Way.
Bank employees give generously of their time and support organizations in their local communities. “Northrim employees are dedicated to supporting their local community and their commitment to volunteering shows that dedication,” said Mike Huston, Northrim Bank President. During 2023, Northrim employees volunteered over 2,500 hours in their local communities.
