Northrim Bank Announces Executive Promotions

Northrim Bank announces the promotion of two employees within the Executive Group. Northrim Chairman and CEO Joe Schierhorn is pleased to share the promotions of Mike Huston to President and Chief Lending Officer and Amber Zins to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Huston was hired as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of Northrim Bank in May 2017. Huston came to Northrim with over 25 years of experience that included time as Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer at First Interstate Bank in Billings, Montana. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School. He is immediate past chair of the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) and continues to serve on the United Way of Anchorage board.

While at Northrim, Huston has developed high performing loan teams throughout the Bank and across the state. With his leadership, the Bank has seen loan growth in all markets. Additionally, Huston led the Bank's Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) process resulting in the Bank originating more PPP loans than any bank in the state.

Ms. Zins has been with Northrim Bank for 14 years, when she was hired as the Internal Audit Manager. She has also served in the positions of Senior Vice President, Human Resources Director and most recently as Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer. Zins holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She is currently attending the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. Zins was an adjunct professor at the University of Alaska Anchorage for 12 years.

Zins oversees multiple departments, creating positive work environments while operating efficiently and providing continuous support of the Bank's strategic growth goals. Zins has led the Bank through the ongoing challenges and impacts of the COVID pandemic. In addition, her leadership was pivotal to the Bank's success with the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
