Veteran Iditarod musher Brent Sass (bib #27) of Eureka, Alaska, was the first musher to reach the White Mountain checkpoint today at 11:05 a.m. with 12 dogs.

Northrim Bank’s award was first given out in 2018. Sass receives a $2,500 check and a special trophy that resides at Iditarod headquarters year-round. New this year, Northrim will also donate $1,500 to the community of White Mountain in honor of Sass.

Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage (NSAA) and Northrim Bank are honored to announce a new endowment for the benefit of Alaska youth skiing in memory of the late Michael Martin, Northrim Bank’s Chief Operating Officer who passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 11, 2021.

  JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska – The Army National Guard and Northrim Bank are scheduled to sign a partnership agreement as part of the U.S. Army Partnership for Youth Success program on Monday, Nov. 8 at 12 p.m. at Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center at 600 West 7th Ave. in Anchorage. The ceremony will be held during the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Make it Monday forum. The PaYS program is a strategic partnership between the Army National Guard and a cross section of private businesses, universities, and public institutions. It provides Alaska’s newest Citizen-Soldiers the opportunity to increase their prospects for potential civilian employment while serving their country. Partner companies with PaYS guarantee Soldiers an interview which could lead to employment. Previously only offered to active duty Soldiers, this unique program is now part of the Army Guard’s effort to partner with the statewide business community and connect Alaska with its members of ...

PCBS is a three year program that, in partnership with the Graduate School of Business at the University of Washington, offers a unique combination of world class faculty, cutting-edge curriculum, and highly qualified participants that defines it as The Premier National Graduate School of Banking. The Class of 2021 attended a two-week resident session in August 2019 and completed their final two years with virtual sessions. The school boasts over 12,000 alumni, with hundreds serving as leaders of financial institutions across the country. PCBS utilizes its vast industry resources to provide tactics and strategies to deal with today’s most pressing banking issues. Residential Mortgage is proud to announce the hiring of a new Chief Operating Officer. Mike Baldwin joins Residential Mortgage with 35 years of experience in the mortgage industry, 32 years as an Executive in management.

Baldwin comes to Residential Mortgage from the Pacific Northwest where he led four successful mortgage companies from startup. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Baldwin was recognized as one of the “40 Under 40” young business leaders by the Portland Business Journal.

“We are excited to welcome Mike to Residential Mortgage and look forward to his leadership and expertise in the mortgage lending arena,” noted Steve Aldrich, Residential Mortgage CEO. “Residential Mortgage has continued to grow in the past few years and Mike’s presence on the leadership team will bring a new perspective to our business throughout the state.”
